Measuring British Public Willingness to Support Ukraine

Measuring British Public Willingness to Support Ukraine.
Wednesday, 2-11-2022.

Public support for sanctions against Russia remains high, but they could erode if the cost of living crisis worsens.
This was revealed in a poll by Ipsos conducted for Sky News. The survey shows that 70% of Britons remain supportive of imposing sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
But of that number, only 41% said they would still support sanctions despite further increases in energy bills.
That's a significant decline since March when 73% of people were willing to endure rising energy prices.
Since then energy costs have more than doubled adding more than £1,200 to the annual cost of a typical household.
Meanwhile about a third of people or 32% now say they will oppose sanctions if they lead to further increases in energy prices. This figure is up from only 8% of respondents in March.
The poll also shows that public support for Britain's role in helping Ukraine remains high. As many as 59% of people support sending weapons and money to the country.
While 58% also said the UK should take in more Ukrainian refugees
However, rising energy bills since March have made public support for sanctions more fragile than ever. According to the poll, 41% of the public are “very worried” about the impact of the war on the UK economy.

AMAZING!! The electronic protection system will accompany British troops

The electronic protection system will accompany British troops.

by Author Jaden.

(airspace-review.com) – The UK Ministry of Defense has awarded a £45 million contract to Team Protec to develop an electronic protection system for British troops. With this system British troops will be protected from improvised explosive device (IED) explosions that are controlled remotely by the enemy. The principle is simple, modern electromagnetic equipment that can be carried by personnel or mounted on a vehicle will track and interfere with explosive device systems. This project is part of Project Crenic of the UK Ministry of Defence. A number of industry partners will support Team Protec to develop this system. Among these are PA Consulting, Leonardo, Leidos Innovations UK, and Marshall Land Systems.

The companies will jointly develop digital equipment to protect British troops, vehicles and military bases around the world from remote and radio-controlled improvised explosive devices. Initial deliveries of this new device are slated for 2026 for the entire British Royal Army. The British Armed Forces are expected to use digital systems in electronic warfare, including against remotely controlled aerial systems. An integration laboratory will be built to allow modification of the system to meet emerging requirements. An image shows British soldiers being protected by an electronic system dome that will disable the IED.
