Buntut dari perang di Ukraina rupanya telah memaksa Angkatan Darat AS (US Army) untuk mengembangkan jenis senjata baru untuk infanteri. Tidak itu saja, ada permintaan khusus bahwa jenis senjata ini harus cepat dapat diimplementasi, yakni harus sudah ada di tangan prajurit pada tahun 2024. Mencermikan situasi yang mendesak pada kelompok senjata anti tank.

Program Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier) di bawah US Army, pada bulan ini telah mengumumkan jenis senjata yang disebut LASSO (Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance), yakni berupa drone kamikaze yang dirancang khusus sebagai penghancur tank.

Persisnya, LASSO adalah jenis senjata portable untuk infanteri yang ide dasarnya bercermin pada kasus yang terjadi pada perang Rusia-Ukraina.

Seperti halnya drone Switchblade, sistem LASSO dapat dibawa oleh seorang prajurit. Komponen LASSO terdiri dari tabung peluncur, drone dengan payload yang mematikan, fire control station, termasuk electrical optical/infrared sensor, precision flight control yang mendukung kemampuan untuk terbang, melacak dan melibatkan target non-line-of-sight dengan serangan mematikan yang berpresisi tinggi.

Rencananya, LASSO akan melengkapi senjata di Infantry Brigade Combat Teams (IBCT). Sejauh ini belum ada informasi tentang kemampuan drone kamikaze LASSO ini, tentu menjadi pertanyaan seberapa jauh jangkauan drone ini, kecepatan, propulsi, berat dan hulu ledaknya. (Gilang Perdana)

Not only that, there is a special request that this type of weapon must be implemented quickly, namely it must be in the hands of soldiers by 2024. Reflecting the urgent situation in the anti-tank weapon group.

The Executive Office Soldier (PEO Soldier) program under the US Army, this month announced a type of weapon called LASSO (Low Altitude Stalking and Strike Ordnance), which is a kamikaze drone specially designed as a tank destroyer.

To be precise, LASSO is a type of portable weapon for infantry whose basic idea is reflected in the case that occurred in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

As with the Switchblade drone, the LASSO system can be carried by a single soldier. LASSO components consist of launcher tubes, drones with lethal payloads, fire control stations, including electrical optical/infrared sensors, precision flight control that supports the ability to fly, track and engage non-line-of-sight targets with high-precision lethal attacks. .
