Indonesian Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo Wants to Add UAVs.

Air Force Chief of Staff (Kasau) Air Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo wants the addition of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to maintain Indonesia's air defenses.
"That's right. For the UAV itself, we want additions, both from foreign products and domestic products. We continue to encourage domestic products to also become our strength," said Kasau on the sidelines of the National Seminar on "The Challenges of the Air Force in Development Aviation Electronics Technology" at Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta.
According to him, for the 51 UAV Air Squadron at Supadio Air Base, Pontianak, there have been developments in several places. However, Fadjar could not explain openly. "Sorry, I can't say it's too open. Because the UAV is one of the sensitive defense equipment, whose activities need confidentiality," said Fadjar. However, in the planning there is already a "mobile" development.
"This is ready to be moved anywhere, apart from something that is fixed (in one place)," he said.
Meanwhile, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said that the Indonesian Air Force must build Indonesia's air defense force based on the power of drones that have the ability to attack opponents.

"We must deploy now the technological tactics and capabilities of a large group of drones, Kamikaze drones and autonomous systems, robotic systems in the air and at sea and on land," Prabowo said.
In fact, Prabowo imagines that in the future the power of drones or UAVs owned by the Indonesian Air Force can become the main defense for Indonesian aerospace.
"Later it's like there is a fighter plane, say our F-15, say our Rafale, but around our Rafale or around our F15 there may be 15 drones. So one pilot is escorted by 15 drones, all of which have anti-aircraft missiles," he said.

"So one squadron will become 10 squadrons, or 15 squadrons at a price that is not as big as 15 squadrons. So this will also increase our capabilities quickly," Prabowo added.
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is an event that must be learned from for the defense forces of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
Ukraine, said Prabowo, has succeeded in giving lessons to the whole world that the power of unmanned aircraft (UAV) that has the ability to carry deadly missiles can carry out attacks on Russian defense points. source : antarnews.com
